scottpain GOD DAMN! Absolutely slaps with the perfect hybrid of all things heavy being seamlessly folded into the doom sonic palate.
Not your average doom band! Much, much more. Riffs for days. WOULD PAY FOR TABS Favorite track: Drude.

Tristan Feilla Every track is incredibly well-written, Drude moves effortlessly between groovy psychedelic melodies and crushing sludge. One of the heaviest three-pieces I've ever seen. This is one of my favorite metal releases of all time, I can't wait to hear new music from them. Favorite track: Eidolon.

Bucky Yep, totally blown away too. This thing is so god damn heavy, yet so intriguingly groovy. Its got that spacey atmosphere lurking and colliding with a post-metal type vocal which I've always adored. Reminds my of the band VYGR kind of, but even better.

Drude 08:51
We are creation. No higher being than we. Use now the seeds of life, for your own ascending light. Exit now thy sanctuary. Looking down a body remains. Evoke not reality. Cease thy slumber. Breath deeply. Hold the smoke. Release to rebirth. Billowing plumes before you. Lucidity befogged. Neutrality complete. Cough forth the bark of Drude! No longer stationed in confines of space and time. In the ether wander. Defy the bellwether. As life corrodes, take a toke for the road. It's evident, this explosion is inception to the land of the stoned. Breath in gravity. Now we journey well to a land greener fields bud and grow. You've got to follow your instincts until you find what your searching for. Wandering through the depths of your minds endeavors. Slowly feel everything start to merge together. Thoughtless motion brings sense of direction. It draws you away from a like that you thought was normal.

Barbelo 09:40
Feast on crow, prophets of sorrow. Don't give it sway, better to leave alone. You'll find the apogee inside. Only a mountain pass to climb. Upon the ocean wave of time. Through the gateless gate of mind. No faith is golden. No secret stolen with bones and sinew holding the erudite knowing.

Oasu 06:49
Enter a world with sight devine. Behold the tree of mind. Beware the guise, apostile of desire. We suffer illusion. Vile Design. Focus on the venture, keep ground in your surroundings. Remain balanced (and) continue onward. Relinquish control for the windfall. When you have come to conquer thought of stone, take warning. The silver fruit of the darkest moon still falls into your hands. You walk among the ones who suffer. Now, walk among the ones who suffer.

Demur 04:15
"There can't be a practical reason for believing what isn't true. At least I rule it out as impossible. I either think it is true or it isn't; If it is true you should believe it. If it isn't, you shouldn't. If you cant find out whether it's true or it isn't, you should suspend judgment. It seems to me a fundamental dishonesty, a fundamental treachery to intellectual integrity to hold a belief because you think it's useful and not because you think it's true." -Bertrand Russell, 1959

Eidolon 06:44
Separate halo from the horns. Fallen from the sun, faded. I've been searching. Taking up snakes and folding my hands when the truth came to focus. Life falls under no command The cradle of serpents, that once was your mind was alleviated by the nostrum devine. Everyone's waiting to find the light at the darkest of ends. Transferred being into life's new hands. Your prophets have spoken, I've read your books. Ancient scrolls and sermons, for your purpose took. If to elevate the mind is to send the spirit low, then we have been passed over. Wash us white as snow. In the palms of your wretched hands, a world in chains. Blood rains to drown the blaze of your throne in flames.

about

Drude Indianapolis, Indiana

A particular strain, a dense and measured hybrid of
doom, hesher and prog that sedates and bludgeons with
equal abandon. In a musical environment where attention spans
are null, Drude make music that grates directly against that simple
fact. "We call it post-toke metal"...The instructions are pretty clear.
